Named for Swedish Roots

TALLENS: PINE TREE
STUGA: CABIN

Along Minnesota’s North Shore — where the rocky landscapes and forests mirror the Swedish countryside — this cabin was created to honor that shared natural beauty. Designed to bring in the warmth of the woods and the calming waters of Lake Superior, Tallens Stuga is a place for rest, connection, and simple living.

Tallens Stuga is located approximately four hours north of the Twin Cities in Lutsen, MN. It’s situated on an acre of wooded lakefront property on the majestic shores of Lake Superior. We are 3 miles to the slopes at Lutsen Mountains, 1.7 miles away from grocery shopping and Fika coffee shop, 17 miles to downtown Grand Marais, 33 miles to the BWCA, and a short drive to numerous hiking, biking, and sightseeing trails along Lake Superior and the Gunflint Trail. Tallens Stuga is in a prime location whether you’re seeking outdoor fun or a cozy day inside.

It all started with a shared love of the north shore among friends…

Business partners and friends - Cindy Froid, Shannon & Jennifer Plourde have spent countless summers visiting the BWCA with their gal-pal pack and families. Cindy stumbled upon this amazing lake front lot in 2020, and the Plourdes bought it with her, sight unseen. The Tallens Stuga crew has been working with MSR Design in Minneapolis, builder Tom Dwyer of Isak Hansen Custom Builders, and their impeccable taste to make Tallens Stuga a place of rest, rejuvenation, and beauty that Lake Superior offers.
